Marsala: Pantone's 2015 Color of the Year in Gemstones

Last week Pantone announced the 2015 Color of the Year:  Marsala.  Inspired by the wine, the color is "sensual and bold" and a "daringly inviting tone that nurtures...exuding confidence and stability while feeding the body, mind and soul," say Pantone officials.




















How does the color translate into gemstones?  Here are some beautiful examples:

The deep, wine-red color of garnet is the perfect version of Marsala in gemstones.

Pink tourmaline, or rubelite, is another beautiful option.
