Amazing 118 Carat Diamond Expected To Break Record

     Billed as the "greatest white diamond ever to appear at auction", this 118-carat flawless-D diamond will be the star of the Sotheby's October 7th auction.  The remarkable diamond, which is the size of an egg, is expected to sell for between $28 million and $35 million!  This would break the record for the highest auction price for a white diamond.

     The oval stone originated from a 299 ct. rough, which was found in Southern Africa in 2011. The highest bidder will not only acquire this magnificent diamond but will get “naming rights” for the stone, as well.
     The title of the "greatest white diamond ever" places this stone above the four largest diamonds ever auctioned:
